Temperature Sensor's And Switches
Available from stock are PT100’s, J, K and T type thermocouples, bi-metal thermostats and thermal fuses. We also fit customer specified thermistors and other resistance temperature devices as well as extruded pockets for customer to fit their own sensors. Separate mechanical or digital thermostats can be supplied for process control.
An extensive range of thermal control devices can be incorporated onto the heaters, these include thermocouples, platinum sensors and limit switches. Pockets and housings can also be applied enabling the client to install their own control devices such as PT100’s and capillary thermostats.
Thermal limiters are snap action bi-metal switches with fixed temperature settings that open on temperature rise, cutting the supply to the heating element and close again on temperature fall. Holroyd stock a selection of different models in a range of temperature settings, current capacity and reset differential.
The Uchiya limiter is a low profile device but it is only suitable for over temperature protection due to its large differential of 30-40°C. The Uchiya has a maximum current capacity of 10 Amps at 230 Volts and is available in temperature settings of 50°C to 140°C in steps of 10°C.
The Pepi J(A) is another low profile device providing a similar level of control as a ½” disc but has a current limitation of 4 Amps maximum. Reset differential is 5-15°C at 230 Volts and the device is stocked with opening temperatures of 58, 85 and 95°C and then in steps of 10 from 110°C to 160°C. The Pepi J(A) is mounted to the surface of the heater and electrically insulated with a silicone patch.
Half Inch Disc
So called because of the diameter of the sensing disc, the ½” disc limiter can be mounted to the surface of the heater mat to give over temperature protection or basic process control. Stocked in temperature settings of 5°C, 13°C and in 10°C steps from 20 to 200°C with a maximum current capacity of 15 Amps at 230 Volts. Reset differential is 10°C for the lower temperature settings and 20°C for the higher.
